About the Speaker
Dr Katherine Hunt is a Growth Authority, combining education in Psychology, Law and Economics with two decades of working with businesses and their leaders.Katherine holds unique authority by being an award-winning financial planner who holds an international Doctorate and has published professionally relevant financial planning research in academic journals.
Katherine holds a PhD in Law and Economics from Erasmus University of Rotterdam, University of Bologna, and University of Hamburg. Katherine has graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Psychological Science, Bachelor of Commerce (Financial Planning), and Bachelor of Finance (First Class Honours, University Medal).
Katherine has worked as a financial planner for Aspire Financial Planning for five years from 2007 to 2011, providing strategic holistic financial advice. Katherine was licensed through PIS (now Centrepojnt).
Katherine has worked as an academic with Griffith University from 2014 to 2022, teaching the next generation of financial planning leaders, and undertaking research projects that matter not only to the sector, but to the world.
Katherine has a passion for empirical methods of all things. She has undertaken research projects on Historical Persistence in Australia, Microfinance Regulation, and Risk Profiling. For this research Katherine recently undertook fieldwork in Pakistan, Bhutan, India, Bangladesh and Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, and Mexico.
Katherine has traveled in 67 countries and surfed in 20 countries so far, despite a fear of drowning.
