Staying on Top of Your Game in Business and in Life
Life’s too short to feel sluggish and uninspired, right? Whether you’re leading a meeting, making constant decisions on the run, or tackling 132 unread emails, staying sharp is essential. In David Beard’s presentation, he will enlighten you with science-backed strategies and practical tips to help keep your body and brain firing on all cylinders.
Sadly, too many people get so caught up in business and the “busyness” of life, they forget to prepare for the long-term future of their health. Better Personal Health = Better Business Decisions.
This event will reveal the seven characteristics of people who live long and fulfilling lives. Based on David’s years of working in corporate health, and with people from all walks of life, you will learn what changes you can make now to ensure you have the energy and enthusiasm you need and want to stay on top of your game.
David will share stories and lessons from some inspirational people (and insights from his book – “If only I’d known I’d live this long”) to help you discover what is possible, no matter your current age.
And the bonus is, many of the lessons David shares can be applied to life right now and to running a successful business.
3 Main Outcomes/Learnings:
- Characteristics of people who have “aged well”
- Why managing your health is essential for work and life
- The importance of planning for the long game
About the Speaker
David Beard is a Fulbright Scholar with post-graduate qualifications from UWA, Edith Cowan University and the University of Arizona.
Over a 40-year career working with people from 15 to 100+ years he has learnt the keys to living a long and healthy life filled with adventure, passion and purpose.
In his Age Well presentation, he shares the lessons he has learnt from some amazing old-timers. He combines this with eight years study at three different universities on two continents, and ongoing analysis of the latest developments in ageing research, to give you the most up-to-date information on ageing and health.
His “Practically Healthy” presentation series takes the vast and often confusing amount of health information and distills it into practical, useable information so participants go away with knowledge and strategies to implement lifestyle changes that are effective and sustainable.
As well as presenting to groups on healthy ageing and the importance of staying active, David consults as an Exercise Physiologist at HFRC in Nedlands. HFRC are experts in rehabilitation, chronic disease management and delaying the ageing process. They employ exercise physiologists, physiotherapists and remedial massage therapists to help clients stay as healthy as possible at every age. David personally specialises in helping individuals with diabetes, weight management and metabolic health-related conditions.
Using his own personal experience, he helps successful people maintain their health and fitness both while at work and as they enter retirement, a crucial time in determining the long-term health of people as they enter the final phase of their life.
His first book “If I’d only known I’d live this long…” is a collection of real-world tips on health, fitness and life that everyone should know before if they plan to live a long time..
David is giving away a FREE Metabolic Assessment and Consultation at HFRC at this event.
